Science has much better answers than "God did it" (religion, scriptures)

I do. They've even admitted that they were wrong, that it was the H. pylori that actually caused the ulcer, though stress might (or might not) be a contributing factor.
The point is, "they" can admit when they're wrong and then find a better solution.

Unlike most deists, and apparantly also atheists, I'm a nation / religion of 1.
So can't speak for other people.
BTW do you truly believe that science would still exist if all of reality suddenly stopped existing?
If so science is indeed stronger than any other deity.
So, you don't eat? Have clean drinking water? Never had need for an antibiotic? Use a heater or AC? Drive a car? Watch TV? Use a computer?
the problem resides around the neanderthal gene. you either got it or you don't. if you have it congratulations you have evolved. if you do not have it....welcome to the missing link club.
HUH? There is no Neanderthal DNA in modern humans. Sapiens and Neanderthals evolved into two different clades. Sapiens made it. Neanderthals didn't.
Science makes no assumptions about what existed, if anything, before the Big Bang. Christianity does.
Christians can make such assumptions, because the Book we follow has been proven correct both in it's history, and it's prophecy. Science only has it's theories.

I don't discount the possibility of a god or gods. I hope you are right to be honest. But, faith in any religion doesn't require folk to be ignorant and the statement above is ignorant. You know what a scientific theory is. I'm pretty sure it's been explained to you.
Let's say that hypothetically, tomorrow I discover underground oil reserves in my backyard. That would mean that I DISCOVERED the presence of oil in my yard, not that I CREATED the oil.
I don't even know why this is a topic of discussion. Open a dictionary.
But discovering oil isn't scientific.
The interest in oil, perhaps, is. And is something created by man--the interest in trying to explain the world.
I'll ask again, since discovering something and creating something are apparently essentially the same thing, does that mean that Urbain Le Verrier created Neptune or that Newton created gravity?
I've been trying to think of how to say this.
Neptune...isn't science. However, astronomy IS. And man created astronomy.
