If I thought the purpose of my life was to worship God I would be really depressed. Born into subservience? Sucks.

In fact, I would find it creepy to think God would make a human being just for the purpose of "exalting his name." What, does he have low self-esteem?

Five years of college and I see the evidence for God all around me. Sorry, but some folk dismiss the evidence. But really that point is for another thread.

Reality sucks, but what choice do we really have?
I wasn't arguing for the evidence of God. Only that a person could not believe the evidence supported belief in God at the same time they were happy not to be forced to worship a God. That's what I needed your five years of college to help you understand.

That stuff you do every Sunday is painful to me. I would rather be water-boarded.

I've never actually seen a church teach we're born to worship God, though. Where are you getting this from? Just curious.

Many of us agree, and throwing off the shackles of religion is exhilarating and empowering, not depressing....I'm sorry that it depresses you that so many of us have done just that, but hey, you are free to do the same.

Me, too. I don't go to church. But, you didn't answer my question.

Hey Boxcar!

How's Life?

Does it suck?

Does the beauty of creation suck?

Does love suck?

So what are you saying? Do you hate all that is good in life? Do you have an issue with saying-God you made me and all that I love, thanks for these things?

That my friend is what worship is about.

I'm glad the purpose of life isn't to burn myself continuously with lit cigarettes.

So you only have to say it once and then the worship is done? We're talking about maybe 5 minutes of sincere thanks and then it's done?

Or are you expected to carry on and on... talking about how great God is for ever and ever - FOR ETERNITY!!!! How boring is that?
