The Bible; it’s the editors who messed it up.

Exactly, that's the beauty of it.

Once a person masters the art of living in denial, he is destined to be happy the rest of his life.

Perhaps you should see your health professional for some medicine. This could be serious. Everyone knows "normal" people have faith.

No, I don't think so. The son represents the father, but is not the father. It's just like an earthly relationship of son/father, where the son has all of the qualities of the father and mimicks his actions so closely because of their realationship. In that sense you can see the father when you see the son.

I wouldn't say that God was 'afraid' either...he, afterall, has the power to resurrect. I think it is one of the privileges we lost when Adam and Eve disobeyed. Not being perfect, we do not have the ability to really see God.

I kinda see this turning into a trinity debate

Shh! Don't give my MIL any ideas. She's already mad at me for not going to church and not raising my kids in the Catholic faith. Oh, and she's especially disgusted that I think gays are just as moral as straight people. Silly me, I keep trying to read the Bible to understand where's she's coming from, only to find more reasons why religion doesn't sit well with me.

If you're a guy, put a move on your MIL and see how she reacts. You might be surprised. It just might show her true colors and not those of her dogmatic principles.

Nope, not a guy. And besides, I think she's too happy in her role as a Catholic superior being to want to mess that all up.
