There ought to be an expiration date on these threads. The last time the OP posted anywhere on C-D was 07-30-2008.

I find it sad that most gave their opinion. There was probably only one answer that considered the Lord, and what He may want you to do. The Bible admonishes woman to be modest. My question is, how can you be modest when you are barely covering the hot spots. Surveys have been given men, and the results show men are more turned on by a bikini than total nudity, because it leaves a little to the imagination.

It is not popular any more in our culture, or even in our church culture to talk even about the motivations of dress, for fear of losing some. But by allowing girls to wear bikinis on a church beach trip, for example, I believe it actually endorses immodesty. Where will women get their lighthouse?

It is a computer porn world now, sadly. Men are not watching themselves. So maybe women need to be a little more careful. Do not ask what people think, but instead take the Biblical modesty rule, and the stumbling-block to-men rule, and take the high road. I am a woman. I dress fashionably, but what God concludes is far more important. Hope this helps.

Should I stop wearing bikinis??

P.S. I love one-pieces, but haven't wore one since I was 14. So, I'm just curious about the swimsuit thing.

If you're in shape, keep on. If you're not please do everyone a favor and stop.

I'm all for good self body image. But after going to the beach or a water park I just have to wonder what some people are thinking.

BTW religion should have zero influence on what you wear.

Really? Expressing an opinion is now a sin?

Or are you saying that this is god's design, be ashamed of it?
