“An unsettling Penn State University study published last week indicates that one of eight biology teachers reject evolution. Thirteen percent of 926 participants in the National Survey of High School Biology Teachers said they openly taught creationism or its kissing cousin intelligent design in the classroom.”

That's nothing...in the 2008 primaries of the eight Republican candidates for president three believed in creationism...or said they did.

Considering that 92% percent of all Americans believe in god (Most Americans Believe in Higher Power, Poll Finds - washingtonpost.com) those are pretty good statistics.

If they taught my kid their religious belief, and put it under the guise of science, I'd push to have them fired.

Elementary school teachers who required us to memorize bible verses back in the early 1940's were responsible for part of my brainwashing...which almost worked.

In this day and time I would recommend fining them and then firing.

That Washington Post poll is interesting. And unbelievable.

The only thing that is unsettling is that only one in eight believes that creation is valid. It speaks volumes for the liberal cesspools that our nations colleges have evolved into. I don't know about you Melvin, but I'd like to think that my existence is due to a greater explanation than a big explosion. I'm not a born again Christian. I just think there is more to life than can be explained by science.
