If the hierarchy actually had any real remorse over the on going Sex Abuse and Cover Up Scandal Law would be made to wear sackcloth for the rest of his life.
Giving Law his position of honor is a slap in the face to not only every sexual abuse victim but also to every member of the Catholic Church.

And I do mean ON GOING SEXUAL ABUSE SCANDAL, back in 2002 at the bishop's meeting in Dallas they pledged ZERO tolerance to sexual abuse, but it has continued to this day, what is going on in Philadelphia is a sad reminder of this.

I adore one Catholic Group, Voice of the Faithful, but when they got rid of the vile Law, the Vatican gave him a promotion. Like Egan, mess up in Bridgeport, get New York.

If the RCC managed Enron, the execs not only would still be employed, they would be making 100X as much as they ever did.

I see the Alaskan perps just settled for $166 million, btw.
Let us not forget that Philadelphia auxiliary bishop Cistone who was involved with the silencing of a nun who tried to alert the people of the St.Gabriel parish about a priest that was a sexual abuser in the first Sex Abuse Cover up Scandal in Philadelphia back in 2005.
He was rewarded by being named bishop of Bishop of Saginaw Michigan; the legal authorities of Philadelphia called his involvement CRIMINAL.

Talking to a Catholic relative yesterday, he actually defended the priests, saying that some of those molestation victims lied. And the ones who did molest kids? Well, that's because they were homosexuals.

As soon as someone musters up the courage.

I think a good starting point would be refusing to recognize Vatican City as a sovereign entity. Forcing residents of Vatican City to obtain Italian passports to travel to other countries would go a long way to diminishing the power of the Vatican.

Joining this forum does not mean he will see the light, there are already Catholics that post at this forum and other forums that practice blind obedience to a hierarchy that is morally bankrupt.
They are in complete denial of what the hierarchy has done and act as enablers for the hierarchy's sinful behavior; they are just as guilty as the ones that did the abusing and cover up.
They believe that pray, pay and obey will be their ticket into heaven.
They are always downplaying the involvement of the hierarchy and the extent of abuse, they quote artificially low numbers of abuse etc.
They attack anyone who is willing to say the truth about the Sexual Abuse and Cover Up calling them anti Catholic and telling them to leave the Catholic Church; we all know who they are.

Cardinal Levada, the highest-ranking American at the Vatican allowed molesters to remain in the priesthood, didn't respond to pleas to notify parishioners of an abusive priest and worked with an alleged abuser to establish a lay review board.
