I don't interpert it, I just recognize that fables are not the basis for anything, other than perhaps entertainment, and even at that this one fails, weak plot, poorly written, storyline jumps all over the place, riddled with inconsistencies.
Can hell exist without satan? The majority of American Christians do not believe that Satan is a real being or that the Holy Spirit is a living entity, the latest Barna survey found.
Nearly six out of ten Christians either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed with the statement that Satan "is not a living being but is a symbol of evil," the survey found.

You feel that way because you don't know the Author. You reading the Bible is like me reading Spanish. Very little is getting through.
I dont believe in hell either.
It just seems too much of a fiendish, cruel and unusual punishment from the God that I have always been taught is so full of love, mercy and forgiveness. And I know that many people have over the centuries, misconstrued way to many scriptural principle and passages as literal convolutions and then passed them down, even editing the bible to their preference, to our generation. But the main thing is whether anything in scripture coincides with Gods personality, just the same as a bio written about you would need to. And to me, bar-b-quing people over and over, eternally is quite a bit of overkill.
This pastor must not have the book of Revelation in his Bible.
