Lev 21:17 "Speak to Aaron, saying, 'No man of your offspring throughout their generations who has a defect shall approach to offer the food of his God.
Lev 21:18 'For no one who has a defect shall approach: a blind man, or a lame man, or he who has a disfigured face, or any deformed limb,
Lev 21:19 or a man who has a broken foot or broken hand,
Lev 21:20 or a hunchback or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye or eczema or scabs or crushed testicles.
Lev 21:21 'No man among the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a defect is to come near to offer the LORD'S offerings by fire; since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the food of his God.
1Sa 15:2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'I will [fn]punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he set himself against him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.
1Sa 15:3 'Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'"
1Sa 15:4 Then Saul summoned the people and [fn]numbered them in Telaim, 200,000 foot soldiers and 10,000 men of Judah.
1Sa 15:5 Saul came to the city of Amalek and set an ambush in the valley.
1Sa 15:6 Saul said to the Kenites, "Go, depart, go down from among the Amalekites, so that I do not destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the sons of Israel when they came up from Egypt." So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
1Sa 15:7 So Saul [fn]defeated the Amalekites, from Havilah as you go to Shur, which is [fn]east of Egypt.
1Sa 15:8 He captured Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
1Sa 15:9 But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were not willing to destroy them utterly; but everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.
1Sa 15:10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,
1Sa 15:11 "I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from [fn]following Me and has not carried out My commands." And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the LORD all night.
1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.
But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

This is Jewish Law that deals with being sanitary and cleanliness.

This is more Jewish law dealing with being sanitary. A Moil performs a bris on a baby who is 8 days old, this keeps the smegma from the genital area so the reason for the circumcision. A young mother just has a longer purification time after giving birth to a baby girl.

But why would delivering a girl require a longer purification time than delivering a boy? That is the point, regardless of what cleansing laws these are about.
