I have read the Bible cover to cover and it is filled with numerous instances of atheists, agnostics, and pagans that converted only when God revealed himself. Paul is a prime example, he certainly new of the Christian faith yet he hunted and persecuted them until the day God personally revealed himself in the desert. Under his New Plan he no longer reveals himself unequivocally as he did with Moses, Noah, Joseph, Paul, and most of the main characters of the Bible. Under his New Plan we must make our choice to believe based on texts written by men we don't know from Books such as the Bible that were compiled by priests we don't know at a Council where validation of writings was accomplished through votes. We don't even know if the voting required unanimous, 2/3 in favor, or simple majority.
As a seeker should I stop respecting the rights of others because from the Bible I am taught that God often revealed himself following great injustice to others? Or should I follow only the New testament, love my enemies and accept that my respect means God's silence?
