Hi All,
I've been thinking about things (emotions) lately, and struggeling with Hate. I don't think I hate anything. I can not recall feeling hate.
Now I can say "I hate rape", and "I hate murder" but do I really HATE them? No, I FEAR them, I am shocked and disgusted by them, they make me sick an anxious to think about.
Is hate supposed to make me angry inside? Or have feelings of intense rage? I have never had these extreme all encompassing feelings of hate and rage.
I see people that truely seem to HATE others, or other groups of people. Red faced, blinded to all but their emotions, spittle, willing to murder etc.
How do you define HATE? Have you ever hated?? What does that even feel like?
I think it feels like never ending rage against that which you hate. It takes away your ability to be reasonable and consumes you. As it consumes you, the bitterness spreads to other areas of your life not just the beginning focus of your hatred. If you are devoted to God and his laws, there is no room for hatred.
How bout this.....I can easily say that I HATE the Westboro Baptist Church and all of it's adult members. You can also add Pastor Terry Jones to my HATE list. Oh and the Baltimore Ravens and the Duke Blue Devils basketball team.

Personally, I seem to hate less strongly and for not as long as I used to. The things I hate most are concepts rather than people. Okay maybe groups of people too... Like greedy capitalists who pretend to be all good but profit off human misery, monarchs who treat people like cannon fodder, those who destroy the environment, genocidal maniacs like Hitler etc.
I don't think I've truly personally hated anybody; I may have felt pangs of hatred for them, but that always seems to pass. I suppose I haven't had a reason to, either, but I'm not the type to hold grudges or be hateful to others.
Dictionary.com: A –verb to dislike intensely or passionately;
feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest...
Usually born out of ignorance, negative judgement, then contempt.
And since it is like love, a verb it can be defined also an opposite, inspiring
actions like violence, destruction and murder, that defeat the objective of
love: enrichment, nurturing and affection.

I do. I hate the impact hateful things have on people. I don't think that's a bad thing. Hate can give rise to worthwhile action.
Hating people, though, just shows a weakness within yourself. If we find ourselves hating someone, better ask what's wrong with US, not them.
