There are many in opinion... clear thinking atheists & theists.

If a person has an emotional axe to grind it will surface in philosophical viewpoint.

The axe to grind is the villain. It could be argued that a viewpoint is without meaning or spineless without passionate contribution. I think thats very true. Although..there is a difference between being on a mission solely to seek out and destroy, opposed to participating in the thinking.

The axe to grind is the villain Its like imagining a tool in hand with the post, a book, life experience, thinking...or a perpetual axe thats all sharpened with work to do regardless .

For example: If say a terrorism thread where a posting theme comes about, which criticizes an effort to bring peace into the world and intentionally dis-avows that initiative in order to axe away at the "origin" of the good effort in constructive hope, that would suggest an...axe to grind.

Clearly a mission to seek out and destroy.

Out of touch with reality the axe hacks away regardless because...it is sharp , ready to go
and offers quick affirmation in the insecure reality... of oneself .

I respect their rights to their beliefs, but not the belief itself.

I think there can be true dialogue between atheists and some theists.

Respect begets respect.

Makes me ask the question: Why bother?
I have nothing against your beliefs, and yes I do consider them delusions. I really don't care, live in your world of your beliefs all you want.

However (you knew that was coming) when you bring your beliefs, delusions if you will, since you brought them up, out into society and attempt to force anyone else to believe in, or forcabley follow them (through laws that effect all), I got a great big problem with that.

Your fantasies, beliefs, delusions, are like your genitals, I don't want to see them, and I sure as hell don't want them forced on me or anyone else.

The government should not recognize marriage. That's totally a religious issue.

A common retort to those who say religion should be discussed or practiced in public. A person need not fear being exposed to religion in NK.
