I dare say that most would not recognize him if he did return. If he doesn't look like Max von Sydow they won't recognize him.People that believe this think the clouds will part and some giant version of Max will appear... I'm afraid the OP is correct, that just won't happen.

If God, not Jesus, came to the planet, would you hear about it? would you go and see? Or would your life be filled with the excuses to not experience? If you look at the world today people seem to not treat others with kindness or compassion. Yet they think if they go to a building and listen to someone talk about God for an hour something amazing is going to happen. I suspect more will happen if those same people go out into the streets and act like they know God than even making mention of Him.
Life is meant to be lived and experienced however we are meant to treat others well. If we don't see God in everything and everyone then we won't recognize God, should he come back.

Start the day with Love, fill the day with love, ed the day with love, this is the true way to see God. Why waste a life expecting a Grand gesture when you life can be filled everyday with small miracles?

Do you really think a God that is Omnipotent will not be aware of the hatefulness you expressed on an ongoing basis? Do you really think God wants you to say "I believe" vs acts of faith everyday?

Do those of faith really think entire sects in the world are going to be excluded and you will be the only ones "saved"? More than anything the OP points out the inconsistencies of religions and beliefs. It is evident that people don't understand their faith and very few actually practice their religion. I suggest the Sunday/ Saturday experience is a means to gather and share the experiences the people had demonstrating their unconditional love. Those acts of love are the true devotion.

2000 years ago a holy man came and yet most of the world didn't notice and even fewer experienced. It will be no different today. If God returns those muslims that think it is good to kill others will not notice, those Christians that think it is right to sit in judgment, they too will not notice. I suggest that the person that stops in his day to help a stranger, the person that with no thought of benefit that just shows compassion, they will be the ones to hear. It won't matter if you are a proclaimed Atheist, a Muslim, a Sikh, a Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain. It only matters how you treat others in the practice of your faith.

.... The Fred Phelps of the world will not see. "they have eyes but can not see, they have ears but they can not hear"

In Luke 21, we read where Jesus speaks about Jerusalem being surrounded by armies. And He tells us that Jerusalems desolation is near. The Book of Luke was finished in 60 A.D. Jerusalems desolation came at the hands of the Romans in the year 70 A.D. Which was 10 years after the book of Luke was finished. Jesus tells us that there will be great distress in the land and wrath against the Jewish people. He tells us the Jewish people will be taken prisoners and spread throught out the nations.

And Jesus then tells us that Jerusalem would be trampled on by the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled. The Gentiles control over Jerusalem ended in the year 1967.

Jesus was right about Jerusalem being surrounded by armies and destroyed. And Jesus was right again when He told us that the Gentile control over Jerusalem would finally come to an end. And He was right when He told us the Jewish people would be prisoners and sent throught out the nations.

Israels future destruction, and it's future existance was spoken of in both the Old and New Testament. And of course this prophecy was made and fulfilled long after the Jewish people returned from Babylon.

Not to mention the fact that the Bible says in the last days before Jesus returns, it will be just as in the days of Noah. If today's time is just as in the days of Noah, think about it.

1. You have many Christians warning unbelievers about the end-times and Jesus' return. We've been warning them for generations. Noah and his kids surely must have done the same thing. Considering he WAS a preacher and all. I mean do we really think his wife and children were completely isolated from society and were just helping build the boat? Of course they were talking and conversing with the people as normal folks do. They must have been preaching to them too while they were at it. The Bible doesn't have to tell us everything for us to know. It's common sense.

2. You have many atheist just as in Noah's time, asking us Christians questions time after time about this or that or why we are this or that or ridiculing us. Surely the atheist of Noah's time asked him why he was building the Ark and ridiculed him too.

3. You have many people thinking the exact same as in the days of Noah. Thinking everything is going just fine and normal. Even though from our technology in these modern times, we can see across the world that it is everything but normal and is in complete turmoil. But to unbelievers, everything is just as it's always been. This is how Jesus described unbelievers would be like. Until that one fateful day when the Ark closed and God flooded the entire Earth. Same thing's going to happen on whenever day he decides to return and rapture the church.

For every 1 messianic prophecy of his first coming there are 8 for his second. Just as his first coming wasn't allegorical, neither will his second. The first time he came as a servant. The second time as a King.

The messianic prophecies of the Torah spoke of him almost entirely as a reigning King. This is why he was rejected. He will be coming back as a King. It is the "Day of the Lord" spoken of over 300 times in both the old and new covenants.

We are headed towards a one-world government. (Bush's speech 9-11-1991) This will have one religion.(Theosophy) Church and state will merge as one. This will have one currency.(electronic RFID chip) It will all be put together in the name of peace. (UN) And it will have one religious leader.

Put the pieces of the puzzle together and start looking for answers.

The only barrier of truth is presuming you already have it.

See, this I could believe. My only disagreement is with the part about God coming back. If you truly live your life like this you'll find that God's always been there, and the one who's "come back", so to speak, is you.
