If you've had one.
The only ones I've had involved loved ones who recently passed away. I assume it was their way of saying "see you later". If I can think of any others, I'll chime in again.
How about yours?

Had that once. Brother passed. Felt like someome was in my house. Quite odd. Like he was there but just out of reach. It stopped. Next morning my mother (an atheist) called and said Tom was here, next to my bed-as if to say goodbye. She said it was very real and profound. Caused to think there might be a spiritual side to life.
I am sure that the atheists here will think of some way to explain the experience away. Good luck with my mother-altho she passed last November. It was a life changing experience for her. But over the next year she kinda rationalized it away, but in the last year of her life she did become a theist.
There are different kinds of atheist. I know atheists that will hear those kinds of stories and say something non-committal like, "well if that helped you that's good, have a pleasant day." So it's usually clear they don't really believe it, but they're okay with you believing it or they just don't want to debate the matter. Many to most atheists are not really that invested in debunking everything every minute.
I may have had some spiritual experiences, but I have some discomfort getting into them. In some cases spiritual experiences can be deeply private experiences between the individual and his/her God or higher power. Also there are things in my life that complicate some of the possible experiences I've had and make it difficult to explain.

Would you resent someone debunking your experiences with abusive langauge and condescending attitudes? Would you resent being insulted and ridiculed for sharing these experiences?

I admire your willingness to be vulnerable with this, putting it out there for others. I admire your humanity.

Drugs have given me the most intense spiritual experience I have had, seeing God and all that sort of thing. Being in the mountains can also be very spiritual.
I had a unitive mystical experience where i felt connected to everything and felt unconditional love so strong, even trying to remember the experience makes me feel good for hours. I had what is known as a 'kundalini' awakening. during the course of this i suffered a psychotic break temporarily. a kundalini awakening is a spiritual awakening that can happen to people either spontaneously or with years of effort. mine came spontaneously.
Also ever since and slightly before this happened i've been having preminition dreams that come true quite often, as well as out of body experiences and have increased empathy to extreme levels. I've even had visitions in my head of people i don't know well. one time this guy i barely know i had a vision of him like a movie in my head where he was crying and i found out a few days later from him that during that same time he was crying because he partner was leaving to join the military.

I have strong empathy too. I pick up on other people's emotions and illnesses. I also get a strong of things happening a certain way or for a certain reason and they often turn out to be true.
I sort of lost track of this thread and came back to some nice commentary. Thanks all for sharing!
In one experience I had, I had a strong sense that my friend was looking down at me from the ceiling. I actually looked at the blank ceiling and wondered what the heck was going on with me. Next day a mutual friend called to say that he had passed away the day before (when I had this "visit"). I didn't even know he was ill.
