. We are urged to gather together once a week not only to pray but to discuss the needs of our community. quote]
how is this needs of the community done in places where there are is not really a community of muslims. How do the muslims help those communities if they are surrounded by christians? Do they team up with the christians, or is that something that they will not do?
The help and concerns for the community does include all in the community. Especially in terms of charity. We are not to question the religion of a person we give charity for.
In the USA some Islamic communities will involve only one family. Or the community can be extended outward. Such as here in ND with few Muslims we generally consider the entire state to be the community. I live about 100 to 200 miles from any Muslims except for my wife. We consider the entire state as our community. We seldom get to a Mosque for prayer, so technically our home is our Mosque and I am the Imam. I also have a website that has the basic 5 daily prayers for Muslims who like us are not near a physical Mosque.
The majority of any charity work by Muslims in ND will be for non-Muslims. Recent thoughts last years flooding in the Minot area. A Muslim is not to reveal who they give charity to and should make all charity works anonymously.
Ok then lets call for NO "new" Mosques in every single non-muslim nation.. fair is fair.. and its all about "equality" RIGHT?
I am all in favor of no government support for Mosques and no providing of government land for them to build on, which is what the Christians on the Arabian Peninsula would need if they are to build a church.
I believe that a person should be permitted to build with their own funds, what ever they desire on land they own, in any Nation. Provided it is not violating any fair local zoning codes. ie if houses of worship are not permitted in a zoned area that would apply to Mosques, churches, Temples, Synagogues etc equally.
Maybe muslims around the world could protest for that "equality"...
Why??????
Every Muslim is an individual. Nearly every Mosque is built by an Individual and donated to the local Muslim community. You build your own Mosque, on your own land with your own funds. There is no central Islamic center that you can go to for funds to build a Mosque.
Most Mosques here in the USA start off as a person's home. Although if there is a sizable Muslim community they may pool their money to build one.
If there is going to be a Mosque in an area it is the responsibility of the one desiring it to find the funding, be certain of the legality and provide for it's upkeep.

That would be equality.
You are being disingenuous again, my friend. There is no such thing as private ownership of land. To paraphrase an old gaming phrase that flooded the internet . . . "All your land are belong to Allah."

True, but here in the USA you have to buy it from people that seem to be under the impression they own it. After you buy it you can give it back to Allaah(swt) as a Mosque for use by the local community. Although you get to stay financially responsible for it's upkeep. We have no tithing in Islam, and us Muslims can be cheapskates in providing support for any mosque we attend. Quite often the Imam foots all the bills, especially in smaller areas.

Ah well . . . it's only until the Mahdi comes and everything reverts to Allah and all submit to Allah under Islam, right?
