I have paper to write for nutrition class and I thought, every single preacher I remember as a child was clearly obese. A large majority of the congregations were also. At first I was like well it is Mississippi and we are the fattest state, then I was like - wait we are considered one of the most religious as well, maybe there is something to it, so I looked it up and found this. Maybe religion does play a role in nutrition/psychology connection. I am most likely going to at least mention this in my paper. I also realize there are a large number of other factors but maybe this also has some bearing.

Doesn't surprise me.

When I was growing up in the south after church we went home to fried chicken, potato salad, green beans loaded with bacon and biscuits with butter, pie for dessert. Not to mention the covered dish dinners at church.

The menu for the rest of the week was just as fat laden.

It must be a southern thing.
