The argument is that a mind that has gone wrong means a consciousness that has gone wrong. The 'Soul' does not continue to operate correctly in despite of a malfunctioning brain. Therefore anything we might calla 'soul' appears to be part an parcel of the grey matter just as ife seems to be part and parcel of the corporeal bod and, when they malfunction or cease to function, that's your lot, notwithstanding all manner of anecdotal dreams visions and hallucinations presented as evidence of something existing apart from the meat.

And with it dies the consciousness of that individual, what many mistakenly call a soul.
A person, and even our dogs and cats, exist only in the memories of those that knew and loved them. When they die, then even that is gone.
Sorry, no soul, no afterlife, and if you believe in that you are chasing an absurd fairy tale. But you will never be disappointed for you won't be aware there is nothing after we all die, for there is nothing beyond.

That's why I believe that exorcisms should be required under Obamacare, and that Social Security should require every retirement community and nursing home to have a Shaman or a Houngan on staff 24/7.
