Ha! Ha! Armpits - that's funny. The sexual aspect seems alot more reasonable than the hair of ones armpits. I just find it telling that the Redactors did not seek to explain how YHWH had his sons if YHWH and Elyon were the same God.

Madumba is the name of the creator for the Pomo Indians of California:
One day he decided to make the people. First he made some stubby little people out of rocks, then some beautiful long-haired people out of his hair. He made some bird people out of feathers and some hairy deer people out of his armpit hair. In fact, he made all kinds of people out of all kinds of material. Finally he made naked people like us out of little pieces of sinew planted between some hills. Madumba gave these people their land and taught them how to eat and live.
In time the people began to misbehave killing each other and not caring well enough for their children, so Madumba sent a great flood to get rid of them. When they were all gone Madumba wished for a village and there was one. He filled this village with people from his thoughts, but these people also went bad, so Madumba sent a great fire to destroy them.
Then he made new people out of willow wands. He taught them how to hunt with bows and arrows, how to make baskets, and how to eat before he went away to his northern home. These people also went bad and had to be destroyed – this time with ice.

As I see it, Elyon was the Great God whose sons were the “sons of Elohim” of whom one was YHWH.

The redactors knew how the God/gods had their children but they did not want to tell. The Egyptian priests knew very well that their sacred texts were describing a judgment of the living but they never let this knowledge be recorded in the books they produced or edited. However, they spoke about it to Plato because Plato knew although he could not read the sacred old texts.

This can't be true that Adam is the image of God: God the Creator of the entire universe with its galaxies and marvels.

There isn't anything like God Almighty and Most Gracious.

There is also a prophetic tradition that Prophet Mohammed said something like that, while it in fact is some of the Israeli traditions intermixed with prophetic traditions which is a fabricated tradition, not authentic.

Nothing like that in the Quran; on the contrary, this is the explanation of the Quran 42: 11

(There is not, as His likeness, anything; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.)

The 'image' does not have to do with ontological aspects like all-seeing and all-hearing - see post #12 and #20.

The expression "God made Adam in his image" made some of artists to draw God like a man: glory be to God.
God is not like any man with hands, eyes, ears, nose and other organs like man, or like Adam.

God cannot be simulated to anyone of His creatures.

But God is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, All-Knowing, All-Mighty; and we don't know how that is.

This is your idea of God, not the authors/redactors' of the scriptures and it is the God of the scriptures the one discusssed here.

That is irrelevent to the text and beliefs of those who wrote it.

And the Israelites/Redactors would agree with you - so what is your point?

And the Israelites/Redactors would agree with you - so what is your point? Who are you arguing with and what does this have to do with Genesis 1:26-27 and how the writers of that text viewed it? This thread is not about how Islam or the Quran views Allah and man.
