Hmm what kind of "New Testament" do you own? I've seen fake New Testament on the atheist/fiction center at my local barnes & noble. Real New Testaments, you see nothing but love.

You should try reading the posts to which you reply. It would really improve the content of your posts...

P.S. I own several N.T.s of various translations, but I prefer the KJV, for its literary impact on the English language.

I wish every single person on Earth behaved like Christ.

Believe in or admire? Two vastly different things.

Personally, I greatly admire the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He is just so gooood!

Wow, you obviously don't know the New Testament, as every word came from the New Testament, I even provided the chapter and verse.

Oh, and it is in context, so don't try that "you've taken it out of context" stuff.

Then you necessarily want to break up families, deport people you disagree with, and throw people into furnaces for not believing. Some love you got there!

I've only seen that level of dedication elsewhere in the Girl Scouts, with cookie sellers who don't meet the required quota of sales.

And yes - Jesus believed in an impending apocalypse, which is why he told his followers to leave their families, quit their jobs, etc, etc. He was teaching an interim ethics to be practiced between then and the End Times. Of course - the End Times did NOT come in his adherents lifetime, so we rarely hear about these interim ethics being preached as something to be followed. The Church had to tone down his more apocalyptic sayings in order to remain active. It wouldn't do well if all their members quit their jobs, never married, stopped having children, etc...

And yes - it's in every "real" New Testament, as the others have pointed out.
