I understand that nothing spiritual belongs in schools. Should be kept at home. Just like some religious "scientists" Don't understand how it's "garbage" though.

Are all scientists atheists -- of course not! -- No more than all atheists are scientists.
Science and Christianity are certainly not in opposition to one another. Quite the contrary. Wherever there is an honest, scientific search for truth, the historical and foundational truths of Christianity are proven-out. When science and God's Word come into conflict (eg; blind insistence on 'big bang' evolution), God's Word takes precedence. Ultimately, opinions that contradict the Bible, will be proven wrong.
