The Sumerians and their mythology predate by millenia the Hebrews, Torah and its god (who was himself based on several earlier regional gods). There's really no question that the Torah or Old Testament authors borrowed heavily from the Sumerians/Mesopotamians. Even Abraham himself originated in UR which was by his time a long established Sumerian city.

No question? In whose mind?

Do you have any original texts that predate the Hebrews? I would suggest that the events of Genesis occurred, and inspired the Sumerian tales. The Hebrew God did not originate with Abraham. He created the world long before Abraham, Ur, or any of the Sumerians existed.

Actually, it was the chance confluence of standard-issue interactive molecular biochemistry and the built-in bio-logic of a self-reproducing simple bio-molecule, by the uncountable numbers of test interactions and subsequent trial and error on-site tests times trillions of test reactions per liter of warm sea water, per hour, per year, for hundreds of millions of years, ( equals a REALLY BIG NUMBER, btw...) that created a fully functioning "life form". Possibly RNA or it's predecessor(s).

The British research community has recently produced such auto-forming life-creating chemicals, capable of semi-reproduction, and I doubt if you'd really be willing to bet science won't EVER produce a fully self-replicating life form. Care to make that wager?

Life does not mean, nor require nor contain, some breathed upon "soul" injection, nor does it require some inherent level of stable intelligence. A proto-viral particle is, by definition, a life form. Let's not let ancient Christian definitions get in the way of honest progress, OK?

We also have absolute proof of that sort of primordial life well before any ±6035 chronology, with a mere 6 days to create it all. Now that's just plain silly!

Well, lead on! It makes for humorous reading if nothing else....

Obviously you are well informed on scientific matters but not on theological ones.

The 6-day Creator was working from somewhere inside the universe and from a location very close to this very important planet (Theology of the year 950 BCE).
Today’s Creator is stationed outside of the universe and is the one who triggered the interactive molecular biochemistry, because he felt he wanted some company (Theology of the year 2012 CE).

Theology you cannot fight with science. You can do it only on a theological level.

The Creator who is today residing in the suburbs of the universe was living in Egypt 5,000 years ago and he was producing divine offspring by means of masturbation. That is theology! That is how theology started and that is also an indication of how ridiculous theology is.

were you there? How'd the chemicals get here? How did matter get here? How did space get here?

See what I mean, Rifleman?

Well, you are right, my dear friend RuralMissionary, they were put there by the God who is known (according to holy scriptures) to be the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.

Unless if it is not that Creator the one you mean, in which case please state what sort of a Creator you have in mind. Mother nature, maybe?
