What is your definition of faith? What is your definition of faith in relationship to God? Why is it hard for people to have faith?

Faith is so hard to define Nolan. It is easily understood by people who have a strong religious belief in God, but is almost impossible to explain to someone who cannot believe in a creator. Faith is what fills my very soul and allows the Holy Spirit to dwell within me to further my relationship with God. Faith is the tool that is within me that helps me through each day no matter what joys, fears or hardships happen to me. Faith helps me to acknowledge that death is only a threshhold that I must be prepared to cross in order to spend eternity with the Creator and His Son who made it all possible through his sacrifice...I think people who have a hard time understanding faith are looking outward for definitions not inward where faith is...

I have faith in the knowledge that I know who I am and / or know who I want to be.
I have faith in the path that I am travelling on.
As long as I am true to myself I have faith in my ability to recognise Love and in my ability to love others.

Sorry for quoting. I try to always respond in my own words. But since faith is so difficult to articulate, I chose to respond with this;

Moderator cut: Oakback, please repost with the copywrite rules in the Terms of Service in mind. What you have quoted is really, really good/excellent, and I hate to have to do this, but...Please repost, either paraphrasing or using the TOS guidelines! Thanks, and sorry!

Little faith says God can
Great faith says God will
Prefect faith says God has already done it

It is? If it is then it is just a coincidence ( or maybe a conspiracy). I was just trying to explain faith with my own words without using the words God or religion.

Tricky, my post wasn't directed at you. That's why I didn't quote it.

The OP was What is your definition of faith? and I answered "Hebrews 11:1, right?"

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

You should always quote to what it is you are addressing then.
Anyway, how can anyone's definition of faith be wrong?
Faith cannot be proven with any physical evidence.

Who are you addressing?

I didn't see a quote?

And, if it was me, I didn't say anyone's was wrong.

I just said my definition for faith is at Hebrews 11:1.
