So why do so many people care about calling it a "holiday tree"?

Tree worship, especially around the time of the winter solstice was part of MANY religions and their HOLIDAYS.

What precisely does an evergreen tree (which likely would not have grown in Bethlehem btw) have to do with Jesus birth?

So if you want to call YOUR tree a christmas tree go nuts, but why you get to decide what everyone calls their trees I have no idea.

Next up "yule" logs........nothing like a little norse mythology mixed in with the christian mythology. Oy vey!!!

I don't know why people care so much either. It really is a non-issue.

Well, since it is Christmas, then calling it a Christmas tree fits, don't ya think? If pagans want to call their tree, the winter solstice tree or holiday bush, then that's fine.

Actually, for those of us who follow Jesus' true teachings, the news is that he doesn't want to be connected to Christmas. He wants us to worship and thank God, our Creator and Heavenly Father, for giving us the privilege to receive the greatest gift that He has for us and that is, His Divine Love.

As for me this year, I didn't bother getting a tree. It was a low priority. Hope you have a happy day tomorrow, whatever you call it.

Maybe because we're sick of being bullied by politically-correct leftists.

LOL

How exactly is calling a public tree a "holiday" tree as opposed to a "christmas" tree bullying?

Inclusion is NEVER bullying, EXCLUSION is. Holiday tree by its definition is INCLUSIVE of all holidays, christmas is excluding all holidays but one. So really, if you want to pursue this silly claim, than the only non-bullying term would be "holiday" tree.

Maybe you are unaware, but christmas IS a holiday. So calling it a holiday tree includes christmas, it also includes in other holidays in which a tree might be used as part of their traditions.

The whiny leftists that force them to be removed from any and everywhere. It just gets old. I think eventually people are just going to get pushed so far they push back. Call it what it is. It's a Christmas Tree. Do Jews decorate trees? Buddhists?

Unless they force you to remove your christmas tree and decorations from your own house, I wouldn't give it much thought. Most Jewish people I imagine celebrate hanukkah so they would light a menorah rather than decorate a tree. Buddhists can if they want to.

That’s what upsets you Christians so much is that people are getting tired of you telling them what do believe. Might want to look in the mirror before you call the rest of us whiny. Left, right have nothing to do with it. I don't care where you stick your happy birthday Jesus signs or if you say Merry Christmas or Happy holidays. It's Christians doing the complaining fess up just remember lieing is a sin so you might want to think about it before you answer. Nah.. your going to lie anyhow.

From our perspective we're tired of the aclu and whatever other organization suing at the drop of a hat and intimidating people.
