I know this doesn't surprise most of us. I don't think I've ever met an atheist who wasn't nice, or smart. I can't wait to hear what he has to say at the end of 12 months.
I like the part where he gets 19,000 dollars to subsidize spending a year thinking about things. I'm willing to try that if you folks will take up a collection to support me.
PS...I live in California so I'll probably need more than 19 grand a year, no need to think that that is the limit.
Also...I may need more than a year to really think it all through completely.
Giving up God for a year? I can see why he is a former pastor. One cannot just give up God for a year like you would give up drinking or Twinkies for a year. That would be like saying I'll give up loving my wife or children for a year.
Good for the atheists tho. A chance to make a convert. But $19,000 isn't going to take you very far in the LA area. Maybe three months. But then again he could put his trust in random chance to meet his needs.
