Yes, keep us posted, Sheena. Are you on any medication for something else? My mom had a constant post-nasal drip and cough that turned out to be a side effect of something she was taking.

Thanks for the update MQ. Sounds like your sister will work very hard to make a complete recovery with her happy attitude.

Sheena, so sorry you are suffering so much pain right now. Hopefully the sinus scan will nail the problem and it can be fixed.

Prayers for health and happiness for everyone here and for the prayer warriors who are here. Though they remain silent their prayers are powerful.

Sheena: You'll be in my prayers. I had something similar which was caused by allergies. It is indeed miserable. Hang in there.
I would echo Dew's advice about allergies, Sheena. It does sound very much like that is what you are suffering from. Not all allergies are airborne. I have routine allergy shots because of it.

I really hate to put in another request. My step mother called yesterday to tell me that my dad is not doing well. He has a pacemaker and he is in the early phases of dementia. Now he was diagnosed with a neurological disorder that causes him to have motor issues.

The worst thing is that at times he is sharp as a whip. And funny. But he's angry. And sad. He's a former business owner and CEO, a student of American history (got an MA in his 30s "for the fun of it") and a former Marine.

He and his wife have long term care insurance and he was assessed for care yesterday.
He was given 12 hours a day, seven days a week of skilled in home care.

He's still a pretty snarky and arrogant guy. Which gives me a bit of hope. When the RN for the insurance company began the could begin the interview, he raised his hand and said to her "Just a minute there. Before we proceed with this, may I enquirer as to your professional credentials?" He said it with a smirk but he was half serious.
From 600 miles away, I can see his blue eyes twinkle like the water on Jones Beach, where he was once a lifeguard.

By the end of the interview they were joking like old friends and exchanging quips and subtle putdowns.

During the interview he told the nurse that his eldest daughter is an RN and "heads up the Cleveland Clinic out in Ohio and that she's be flying in intermittently to supervise "all this nonsense".

I'm the "eldest daughter". I'm an inactive RN and other than a floor at a community hospital, I've never in my life "headed up" anything.

Nor can I fly in to supervise - or just to visit.

My ENT doesn't think I should fly at all until the sinus PND problem is properly addressed.

I'm crying as I write this. I miss my dad and I want to be there for him.

Please pray that I get to spend some quality time with him and especially that he gets to enjoy a better quality of life - and a longer one.

After the nurse left my father's wife said "Jerry, you know that Sheena isn't the head nurse at the Cleavland Clinic, right?"

He said "Of course I do. I was just playing with that girl's head. It seems like everyone's playing with my head these days. I just want to let her know I'm in charge and that my daughter is looking out for me."

In reality, there isn't much that I can do from this distance other than send DVDs, cards, photo albums, and books about the Civil War.

And pray.

Sounds like your Dad still has plenty of good days ahead. And with the 12-hour care, both he and your step-Mom should benefit.

I think he'll really appreciate receiving those notes and knickknacks you send until you can visit yourself.

Try to stay positive.

I have another serious problem. My husband experienced chest pain the day after I wrote about my dad.

As of today he is recuperating in the CCU following cardiac cath surgery. This came out of no where. Truly unexpected.

Please pray for a complete recovery. I'm pretty frightened right now.

Oh my goodness Sheena , when it rains it pours for you. It is such a terrible feeling to be so far from a parent when they are going through what your dad is at this time, but be blest with his positive and humorous attitude.

I pray that your sinus condition will clear enough for your Dr to allow you to travel to visit him. Till then I am sure he will look forward to any kind of contact with you.

Prayers for your hubby that whatever the heart cath showed can be cleared up with proper medications.

Thank you Miss Blue! You are always so kind!

DH had two stints put in. He's doing pretty well but it was quite a scare for us. Relaxing is difficult for him. Please pray that he follows doctors orders. He's always "on the go". Being an "invalid" does not suit him well. He's a little cranky.

I had a CT scan yesterday, followed by a nasal culture. The Dr. saw an extremely deviated septum (which I knew) and some black dots inside of my nasal passages. She is culturing them and is suspicious of mold, which could be interstitial (at the cellular level). None of this is terrible, it's just difficult to treat.

I had thought that it was "allergies". However, for a second time the results came back negative.

I don't care as long as it can be treated. It is NOT cancerous. I'm scheduled for out patient surgery in May to further biopsy tissue and possibly for balloon rhinoplasty. The latter sometimes gives some relief.

She (the Dr.) has seen these black spots before and treated them.

My dad remains the same. My hope is that I can visit him soon.

I am so happy that the City Data Prayer Warriors have my back!

I had a stent put in seven years ago. Once your hubby recovers from the procedure and gets his legs and wind back, he'll be delighted at how much better he feels.
