Can someone please explain this to me? I've been trying to wrap my head around this topic and can't really find a good definition on the internet. Anyone know what the main idea around it is/if you do, do you agree with what Christian Existentialists have to say?
It's just another attempt at believing a bunch of stuff Christianity doesn't teach, but calling themselves Christian.....like Christian Science, or any of the other cults we have represented even here on this board as "Christian".

I'd never heard of Christian existentialism but I semi-agree with Viz. Among the many cults, we even have members of Calvinism!

It would be wrong to classify it as a cult.... since Christian existentialism is the INDIVIDUAL's experience with God which transcends any societal norms or restrictions. But fundies try. Mostly because they have a vague understanding that it involves thinking for yourself and.... goodness knows they don't want that, lol.
I have a definite bend toward Christian existentialism. No one says, "Believe this" in CE. There are no leaders or meetings or someone saying, "Do this or you're doing it wrong." It is a one-on-one experience with God. However the individual sees Him. Or Her. Sort of.... connect with God and do your own thing to know him and experience him. It's a life-long journey. BTW Trout..... I see a lot of existentialist thought in your posts. Also in Mighty Queen's, Ronkon's, Miss Hepburn's, Mystics, Jerwade's and Katzpurs. (Seeing the pattern? )
Not even a teeny tiny bit in the posts of fundamentalists. Rigid belief and thought and existentialism cannot co-exist. Existentialism takes a lot of deep thinking about "Why am I here? How do I relate? What is the meaning of this existence?" The answers come from self. Not from sitting in a pew listening to someone else tell you what you're supposed to believe.

I've been called far worse than a Calvinist by far better people. If you think that constitutes a "Zing!" you have a sheltered life.
It's only a zing if you understand the import, which Calvinists don't.
