i think the running part comes in when one is being chased while drinking..and doesnt want to part with said drink...(not that I would not anything about that)

yes, but you have to admit it does alliterate! (with "Rob", I mean) I don't make candy canes either, but I have been known to have a few in my house. In fact, I saw some in the pantry left over from LAST Christmas just last night!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I think about it... I do give out candy canes at Christmas at the bank where I work!
Btw, candy canes just don't sound as good as pecan pie .... or shepherd pie for that matter!
