I could be wrong about this, but I seem to have read somewhere that Irish slaves were not an investment. They were just plucked up under the pretext of "employment," then treated very harshly. If they died, so what? They were free. You could pick up another one from the next boat over.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else, or am I misremembering?

Nope, infact, many peoples arrived in this country in such a mannor. It was only a later development that Africans, and eventually exclusively Africans, were used.

Anyway, if you don't believe in the Bible, good for you, if you do believe, even better. Just don't try and justify criminal activity with it.
