I think most people would agree that if there is one major world religion that has a good track record when it comes to tolerance, respect for other religions, peace, and nonviolence it is the Buddhists.

However, in an article in the July 1, 2013 issue of TIME magazine - "The Face Of Buddhist Terror" - that there has been a growing campaign against Muslims in some majority Buddhist countries such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Thailand; but especially Myanmar (Burma). For example, the article mentions that an entire Muslim quarter of the town of Meikhtila, Myanmar, was raised and Muslims were killed after a Buddhist monk and one other Buddhist was killed by Muslims.

Violence and killings between Christians and Muslims, Muslims and Jews, Muslims and Hindus ... and now Buddhists and Muslims ... when will this end?

It will end when Muslims stop killing others for being "infidels".

If you really think that Buddhism is not violent, google up "buddhism violence" and read it all up, including genocide of Muslims. Like with every single religion out there, it all depends on the people, on the interpretations, on political and financial interests.

[SIZE=3]The Buddhist 969 movement has been set up by Buddhist monks to oppose the Jihad against Buddhists in Burma. The jihad sometimes takes violent forms, but more often consists of infiltration, subversion, Mosque-construction and financial subsidies to Islamic businesses from petrodollar-rich OIC countries. This is causing a rapid impoverishment of the middle-class Buddhists as their businesses succumb to unfair competition from this financial jihad.

Once the jihadist cartels have forced the Buddhist-owned businesses into bankruptcy in their targetted area, they are then free to increase their prices to extract jizya from the local farmers and working class Buddhists. This financial jihad is coupled with a demographic jihad, where jihadists are infiltrating Burma from Bangladesh as illegal immigrants and then, with OIC (Organization for Islamic Conversion) funds to support their huge polygamous families, are rapidly outbreeding the indigenous population.

[SIZE=3]In the jihadist-dominated township of Rambree in Arakan State in Myanmar (Burma), a gang robbed a Buddhist girl, ganged-raped her and murdered her in grisly manner.

She was intercepted while returning home from work on the evening of 28 May 2012. She was killed by slitting her throat. Her dead-body also showed several stabbing wounds on the chest, as well as wounds and cuts on the vaginal and pubic regions.

After news of the grisly rape and murder spread, nearly 1000 angry protesters from nearby villages marched to the police station on 29 May, demanding police action against the barbaric murderers. Three culprits were arrested on the same night.

A Burmese source tells us that angered by arrest of the culprits, Bengali jihadist started riots on 8th June 2012 in Moung Daw Township in Arakan State, which borders the line between Bangladesh and Myanmar. According to the source, the riot was continuing at the time of reporting at about 9pm Myanmar Time on 8th June.

Jihadists started the riots after the Friday Ju'ma (congregation) prayers, which is a common occasion to launch violent Jihadi actions and protests all over the world.

Syrian Islamist have been attempting to smuggle Muslim extremists into Myanmar, a Syrian Islamist source told NOW.

According to the source, “many attempts have been made to send Jihadists to Myanmar for the sake of our brothers.”

“Contacts with Islamist groups in Pakistan, India and other surrounding countries are being made in order to facilitate their entry into Myanmar.”

The source, however, added that “these attempts have failed.”

Speaking to NOW, Salafist Sheikh Bilal al-Masri called on Muslims to attack Buddhists and their interests.

Buddhist genocide against Muslims? I think that is a bit far fetched.

A case can be made for Islamic genocide against Buddhists ... just look at formerly Buddhist lands from Afghanistan (remember the Taliban blowing up centuries old Buddha statues in Bamiyan?) to Indonesia (the largest Buddhist temple in the world at Borobudur is now in Muslim hands).

You forgot to mention Christians and Christians, Christians and Jews, Taoists and Christians (Boxer rebellion), Hindus and Christians, Hindus and Buddhists, and the list goes on. While there are a great deal of Musilim vs x conflicts right now, that has more to do with the growth of Islam than something fundamental to that specific religion. Religion of all sorts is used to divide people, and pit them against "the other". Why are we surprised when it succeeds?

The origin of it all starts with Moses. It all comes down to that one horrible little wretch of a fictional character. In spirit, Muhammad is no different than him. Along with every other false prophet who strives to be like him.

So sorry, but Atheism is a religion too.

You can't escape religion just by wishing it away. It's part of our brains.

In "I Don't Believe in Atheism" the author basically stated the the war of Christianity against Atheism was two irrational belief sets (since science itself doesn't assert anything) violently opposed to one another. The actual problem wasn't religion, but the fundamentalist "I'm right, you're wrong" mindset.

Alot of religions have feuded with each other. But notice a pattern to all Islam's targets? They're "lesser people" those Islam has decided are wrong. It is exactly something fundamental to Islam.

http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/qu...3-violence.htm

They're fundamentalists to the core.
