Your Views on current Peace Talks Israel/Palistine as a Christian (prophecies, bible)

Today started a new round of peace talks in Annapolis, MD that was to include MANY countries to discuss peace in the Middle East and give Palistine specific borders amoung other things. As a Christian how do you view these talks? Do you really believe that we will see peace in the Middle East or will it be a sign of the end times (the 7 year period)? On one of the national news shows today they said that part of the agreement was to make Israel a non-Jewish country - thoughts? How do you feel about our president being so gung ho about peace in the Middle East? Does he read his Bible and know what it says about such? Is this only a small part of the signs of things to come that are talked about in the Bible? Have we been leading up to this point for many years (decades rather) w/ small changes happening that we don't realize what is going on? We buy into all kinds of things sold to us based on scare tactics (war on terrorism for example)? There is SOOOOOO much more to the peace talks going on right now than I can even think of at this hour but I've been reading up on them and in my Bible and not to sound nutty or anything but to me it seems that there are things going on right now that were prophecies. There are just too many things going on that if all pieced together don't look to good right now and this is one of them.

yeah its crazy to me that a world leader would be interested in peace rather than the prophecies of a religious book written long ago..

I think it would be wonderful if there was peace in the middle east. I also think it would be wonderful to turn M&M's in to gold or to ride Unicorns on rainbows. It won't ever never happen.

As a Jew, I 100% support Israel not being an officially Jewish state. I am personally offended to be associated with some of the actions Israel takes against Palestinians as it certainly it not the Jewish way. Going to a Jewish college, many Israelis agree with me on that. Bush doesn't seem so "gung-ho" as you put it about peace in the Middle East anyway- only gung ho about ending terrorism against the west, not the other way around.

Do I think there's anything Biblical about it? Certainly not.

A President has the responsibility to promote things that are good for their country through their foreign policy. More peaceful interaction in the Middle East between Israel and neighboring Arab states helps the West as well. I would be more bothered if the President said "Israel, right or wrong!!!!" because of the way he interprets prophecy.
