The books that I read this year:

Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt.
One of the most heartbreaking books I've ever read, but written with humor. Quickly became one of my favorite books.

Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan.
An eye opener.

Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards
Not bad.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
Beautifully written, haunting, mysterious and breathtaking

Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn
Very thought-provoking, slightly unrealistic, yet, interesting and intriguing.

Biblical Parenting by Crystal Lutton
If you are a Christian anti-spanker like me, this is the book for you.

I just read a book which was NOT a Christian book, but was a nonfiction book written by a woman who escaped from a polygamous sect called FLDS--Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints. The name of the book is Escape and it was written by Carolyn Jessop. It was a real eye-opener. I was appalled to learn that women and children are forced to live such abusive lifestyles in the United States. It's sad when men pervert God's freely-offered salvation for their personal gain. Read it and you will see what I mean. A fascinating book!
