Don't you find it a bit incongruous that those who are teaching religion are too often the ones who are also committing these sexual indiscretions?
Do you have a point? Do you believe that Christianity teaches this? A sexual predator will do anything he/she needs to do in order to get around their prey. Whether it's teaching Sunday School, or Boy Scouts.
It could just be that the reason it often happens in churches is because Christians tend to be trusting--we assume that the people we go to church with are like-minded and have the best interests of the children in mind, so we let our guard down.
The answer is in the statement you're replying to. Because any idiot can see that it is harmful to others -- in this case, children, who any idiot can see it is in our best collective interests to nurture and protect.
You always act as if without someone telling us right from wrong we would not know which is which. Most of us, however, do. And the determination of right and wrong MUST be internalized, if it is just following orders then there is no way to verify empirically that what you're doing is useful or maladaptive. Only outcomes can determine that.
Perhaps because he is following the construct that just makes so much sense which you won't subscribe to:
If it feels good do it.
If it harms you or someone else, don't
Simple and irrefutable, except by the obtuse.
Here we go again......
Why? Why should we accept that? How do you know that is the standard? You have yet to answer that. You assume it is..but you have yet to explain WHY it is.

OK...it's harmful. Why is that immoral? Can you explain? Or are you just going to assume it? Are we just born with that understanding?
