Dismembered? Should someone call 911?

Well there you go. Or you can just be intelligent, self-aware and empathetic like that ^^

And He does.
Not only reinforcing the things that are recorded Jesus said, but instruction from the Father ,in every day life.
Jesus did not intend believers to be dependent on scriptures nor the tutelage of other men, 1 John 2;20,

To the OP , there is not enough info nor have other men the business in another mans/woman's/ church's decisions these are all accountable to God and will give account on that day .
Jesus will determine those that have been living with in His Lordship and thoe whom have been living under their own or some one else's. Matthew 7;21,22,23,

And that is all I would remind them.
Excuses are not acceptable. No where even in scriptures does God approve of them, especially now that the Holy Spirit is available to man by Jesus provision .
Luke 14:26 Jesus said: “If you come to me but will not leave your family, you cannot be my follower. You must love me more than your father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—even more than your own life."

It means not allowing them to attend the church anymore.

Odd phrase to use.

I've never been to a church that would literally kick people out.

Sometimes the people you think need removed are the very people who need the church's help the most.

There's a REASON why they call it "preaching to the choir," and if only people who are already devout Christians and believe exactly as the church commands are welcome, what's the point, really?

Heh, maybe the smartest thing to do for both of them is to each leave all of that rubbish behind and find a completely new church away from all of that hassle and start over.

Together.

Which would only prove everything that has been said about men and women not being equals, women being inferior, in the eyes of Christianity, regardless of how you try to explain it away.

Each person having a place is not a matter of equality.
A socket and a ratchet are two tools . they work with one another and cannot produce with out one another.
One has a designated responsibility , and the other has it's designated responsibility .
They both have a place ,though they are "not" both the same tool.
Since Genesis man was formed first ,then Eve. and it was Eve that failed first .
In stead of taking responsibility for the failure, Eve blamed the serpent, and Adam blamed God, for the woman God made him.
Nothing much has changed.
As you can see the a blame game didn't pay off very well either. but people still do it.
Obviously.

I know Sharina. My life is so much better without church.
Reading these threads reminds me of the petty, unenlightened pathos that rules the lives of so many church members. Of course , the ones who say "Oh Oh My church is not like that" Often end up, upon closer examination, to be the worst offenders! I am happy not to have this "rubbish" in my life. Not worth it.

People with lower self esteem, and a need to have answers spoon fed to them, often flock to churches. When someone goes against any norm, it is more common than not to see the members "dismembered" or "Disenfranchised"
Little do these people know that they not the victims, but the victors. Those who must remain in the abusive and restrictive bonds of the religion are the true victims. Those who are banished from attending should be happy, as they have a chance to escape the bondage of the church.

Reading the OPs post, I would remind everyone that one goal of churches is to try to alter the thinking and beliefs of the members, forcing conformity at the expense of personal expression. For me, I would not just leave, but I would not have wanted to go in the first place. That is why I am home right now on a Sunday morning.
As Shirina said, the best thing to do is walk away. If people, friends, cannot accept you for who you are, then those are not the kinds of people whom one should have as friends anyway. ....Religious or not.
