Just to be clear you are asking me, if adults who have done nothing wrong since they are not incarcerated should they be punished ? of course not,foolish question.

I'll answer for you, perry. No one is perfect. No adult, no child. If you understand that an adult should not have their "butt whipped" or be slapped when they behave in a less than perfect way, then you must surely agree that no child should either.
