Did he create himself? Did he appear out of nowhere? Did aliens create him? Did he create the aliens?
I'm confused.

Maybe his/her/its birth was the Big Bang and God is growing and evolving with the rest of the universe.

Hey now, you're not allowed to ask that question! Only the universe requires a creator. God does not.

I think it's most likely that human beings created the concept of god(s) as a means to explain the things we cannot otherwise understand.

They weren't frightened and weak, they were the very smart ones!

They created "gods" (some religions have hundreds, others a few, some only one) and then dictated the stories and rules to gather the power associated with obeying those rules.

Follow my rules and consolidate under my power. But it's not my power and I'm not the one making decisions, it's god! Can't rebel against something you can't see. Genius!

There's a sucker born every minute. Religion is essentially a business of exploiting suckers. The tragic thing is that children are taught this crazy stuff before they are old enough to think for themselves.

Hmmm...the question of existence is something that can't be avoided through atheism. For example, we say the big bang started this place up but the big bang required mass...so what created mass in the fist place, where did the mass come from? Then we got the Higgs-Boson which I think is spontaneous but not spontaneous so how did the Higgs come about in the first place, then repeatedly, then consistently, then sufficiently, why don't we see it again?

The point being the same question can be posed to atheists when the presupposition is nothingness. If you have the mind to think about it why does that nothingness even exist in the first place, how did nothingness come about? As for thinking for yourself, no one thinks for themselves that's why every argument or statement posed is cliche even the, "they don't think for themselves" the first guy who had that thought was genius everyone else is just repeating it.

No. He would have to exist before He existed. He'd have to be and not be at the same time.
