Must be he ceased to be god somewhere between the old and new testament then, huh?

He seemed to do a fair amount of flip-flopping on the issue of slavery (as did his followers): link

And counseled his chosen people to slaughter non-chosen people and rip open the bellies of pregnant women.

Quite a guy, that God. Can't set the moral bar any lower than he did.

Yay. Another post about slavery...as if God approved of and endorsed slavery, or even that slavery in the first century was anywhere like slavery in America 200 years ago.

Did you read the link? It's a page of all the Bible quotes that talk about slavery and you'll see many contradictions. It very much goes against the position that God's opinion on things doesn't change, so there is no way he could come down and say gay marriage is okay.

Just curious.
I support marriage equality.

But, were this to happen, I'd pull up a chair and watch all the fundamentalists tell Jesus he's wrong.

If you'd like to pick one of the supposed contradictions I'd be happy to discuss it. I don't see any contradictions on that page.

No you don't. If you did you wouldn't be suggesting a new form of marriage simply to cater to 1% of the population. That 1% already has equality.

God is immutable, we have man however to say that everything is okay that the Lord states as an abomination.

That's kind of strange because I keep reading Christians argue that somewhere between the Old and New Testament "God" did just that, changed his mind.
