Oklahoma Supreme Court rules Ten Commandments monument must go - Religion News Service

Even though the US Supreme Court ruled that the Texas monument could be displayed, this particular ruling dealt with the Oklahoma Constitution, which specifically does not allow public or privately donated funds to be used for such displays on public property.

Why do you care? I've asked this before...but what motivates you, when you get out of bed in the morning, to go and post on internet message boards about a religion you claim to not even believe in and celebrate events that you think will tick us off?

Why would you get ticked off about Oklahoma being forced to conform to the Constitution?

Because any display on GOVERNMENT PUBLIC AREAS of ANY religion is an ENDORSEMENT.

How long would it take for the evangelical-fundies to petition for removal of the Satanic Bible verses from Courts or schools?

Or may be the Wiccan oath?

Or the The 'Five Pillars' of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life:

Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
Establishment of the daily prayers;
Concern for and almsgiving to the needy;
Self-purification through fasting; and.
The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.

Or the Hindu's four proper goals or aims of human life: Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha in every court?

Along with the beliefs of the other thousands of religious variations...

I'm not suggesting we have prayer in school. Why are you now going off on a tangent?

I wouldn't. I certainly want Oklahoma to conform to the Constitution. But they are not Congress, and they aren't violating it by the state deciding to do something like this.

Who cares?

If someone wants the 10 commandments posted somewhere, do it in their yard or in front of their church.

If the Nation does it at any level then they must do so for all religions and beliefs. Now that would be interesting.
