Just think how different your life would be had you grown up in a commune in Big Sur with hippie parents who rejected the establishment, were open to alternative ideas and religions and encouraged you to find your own path.
Yes, my life would most certainly be different. Probably radically different. But who knows...I might have issues related to drug use rather than issues related to a fundamentalist Christian upbringing. It's not all sweetness and light in the (stereotypical) hippie world either, from what I understand.
I managed to find my own path based on scientific thinking. I'm still learning to think critically and I am still in the process of unlearning a lot of fear-based nonsense that was programmed into my brain from an early age.

True.
Though it should be noted not all hippies used drugs. Some were (are) health food freaks who wouldn't think of putting chemicals into their bodies to get high.

Interesting. I did not know that.
I guess lumping all self-described hippies into a single group would be inaccurate, every bit as much as lumping all self-described Christians into one group.

Ah, but Grasshopper, your consciousness does NOT have to remain here on earth...
it is not gravity that keeps your consciousness in your body...it is your limitations.

It's ok!
I like gravity. I have some agoraphobia, so floating out into the vastness of outer space isn't exactly my idea of a fun time.
You could visit your girlfriend while she's sleeping and surprise her!
(Astral projecting....)
What are you talking about? I don't get it.
