It does? What sort of faith?

Buddhism. Specifically Theravada Buddhism.

Because it's the only one that makes sense to me; not grounded in silly superstitions, not pretending to know all the answers of the entire universe, not at war with science and reason, doesn't denigrate the dignity of the human being by insisting he or she has "sin" and requires redemption by a jealous and irrational god.

Albert Einstein, who was not a Buddhist, was quoted as saying that Buddhism is the Cosmic religion of the future - it transcends the need for a personal omnipotent creator god and avoids dogmas and theology.

The correct translation is "besides". Basically, the word means "except, only, save that". The writer means there is no other God. He's it.

As an atheist, I would rather have Buddhism a religion than Christianity, Islam and other
barbaric religions. Jainism would be fine also. Don't hear about Jains doing the crazy stuff that Christians and Muslims do.

You're not rational.
I like the rational response to this statement. LOL

Grew up Christian, but ditched it when I was quite young and have been so happy that I did. Religion these days is such a mess. All about control over people.

Oh by all means tell me where the "faith" is required in the statement "If you can not substantiate your claim.... then I will not believe your claim".

Because that is all that is required for me to hold the positions I do in regards your god. So regale me with tales of where I need faith for this. Please do tell me what I think since you feel me incapable of knowing myself.

Or perhaps, similar to your appraisal of the Business Model of Ashley Madison... we can just transparently see that you "are really just selling a fantasy that won't happen in reality." An appraisal you made seemingly entirely oblivious to the irony of you making it.
