is it true in the USA that people who don't believe in God aren't dateworthy?

I wouldn't touch a lot of people who do believe in God with a ten foot pole for dating purposes.

Who said so??

BTW: I avoid extremes on both ends of this spectrum - both are zealots, as far as I'm concerned.

Sure. Plenty of people aren't religious.

Just meeting someone with the same belief, or who doesn't care.

But usually, people want someone who is on the same page as them religiously, or lack of.

Strictly a compatibility thing.

Uh....no? Not everyone in the US is religious. I can only speak for myself -- I'm Catholic, but not really serious about it at all and I am fine with dating atheists because many other beliefs of mine are more in line with many of theirs. But, I could not date anyone who was a fundamentalist in any way, whether they were a diehard atheist or fundamentalist Christian.

depends on your system of beliefs. Honestly I'm not one to push my beliefs onto others and I certainly do not hate other religions and so long as she doesn't try to make me not believe in God, I'd date a woman who doesn't believe in God. On the other hand, I wouldn't date anyone who so into her religion that they read scripture every night and attend church service every time there church had it.

I believe, i know, hell sometimes I even talk to the guy upstairs, but he is not my everything and believing or not is not a dealbreaker.

This is somewhat close to asking if someone who doesn't eat bananas is date worthy or someone who is vegetarian, someone who is a meat eater, someone who believes in Astrology, someone who plays video games, someone who wears purple socks, etc. etc. etc......
