When you draw a picture there is a wire skeleton. When you have a living thing, there is DNA. For matter, there are atoms (and smaller stuff). Games are made from code and graphics. And so on.
So, what does the "code" of this reality look like?
The "code" as we know it to date starts with single cell organisms, though there is some interesting work that may be pushing that back a bit. The next part of the code is energy intake and opportunities for doing so, this provides some variety as different opportunities are exploited. The third part of the code is environmental change, which affects some area of the energy intake part, causing adaption and change in organisms or failure to survive as discrete organisms with the opening of new ecological niches and the closure or restriction of others.
the code that starts creation, is thought
and the fuel that propels that thought into a created form, is feeling
Mmmm... Now I'm thinking that feeling and thought came after 'creation', i.e. after the formation of life. I sometimes wonder about the 'conscious' level of organisms like plants and single celled animals and even more complex animals like worms and on up to insects and so on.

This question is way beyond me, I admit. But to my non-genius mind, this ^^^ makes sense, if a consciousness of some sort is responsible for our existence.
