Jesus was speaking about a certain generation here in these last days,( the generation who saw this occur-Rev 6) not the generation back in his day. A thousand years is like a day to God( 2Peter 3:8)--so it hasnt even been 2 days yet to God.

However, God knows how a PERSON sees things, right? And I'm guessing He gets that He's so far above us and we need help understanding and so on, so forth? He's God, after all. He's supposed to know everything. Every detail.
When my children were toddlers, I understood the limits of their understanding and I spoke on that level. I didn't read college textbooks to them and then say, "Okay, now I've given you all the tools and information you need. Good luck!" and then send them crawling across the freeway with a cheerful wave good-bye.
If even a stupid sinful spiritually bankrupt sinner human gets this concept, it's pretty ridiculous to say God can't, and manages to accidentally reckon time in His way, not the human way, when speaking to humans and directing a life instruction manual for humans.
Apologetics always rely on people being okay with God being stupid and forgetful ("Oh oops, should have reckoned that in human years...that whole earth revolving around the sun thing, oh yeah, THAT kind of year...like, a YEAR sort of year...darn it! Ah well, too late now, in it stays") and somehow utterly ignorant of how human beings think.

Why would an all powerful and knowing god make comments that might be misinterpreted, especially when they were made so vociferously? He was not vacillating, as opposed to most evangelicals.
"this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." Biggest joke ever played on makind
Jesus HAS already come but everyone was told to look in the Bible, NOT look for Him within. The power of ancient ignorance has corrupted His Gospel for over 2000+ years!!! The majority anti-Christ apostate churches ignore the New Covenant instituted by Christ and continue to operate under the Old Covenant "written in ink" and stone. It is a travesty. If you keep seeking Christ in the Bible and do not seek Christ within, you will never know Him nor God.

Here is the actual verse:
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The upshot is that God isn't very good at telling time.

Indeed. I am never going to buy this rewriting the Bible to make it fit what actually happened. It is pretty clear to me that Jesus was predicting that the End would come when some of those who were listening to him would still be alive. The Sadducees he spoke to would see him coming on a cloud with angels. They all died eventually and it didn't happen. So Excuses have to be made up.
'Generation' has to be something that makes sense to God, but is totally misleading to the ones who listened to Jesus or read the words. 'Taste death' would mean anything other than their actually dying. And the Sanhedrin would see Jesus coming...not in their lifetimes, but when they came out of their tombs 2,000 years later..or 3,000.
