I looked at the Ark Encounter website. They make it clear the Ark Encounter is meant to be a Christian religious experience. Public school field trips to see something meant to be a witness to the Bible and Jesus Christ is a clear violation of church and state.
If parents want their children to see the Ark Encounter they can have a nice family trip to the ark and pay the admission. Their kids can hear the tour guides talk about the ark and Noah and Jesus. The parents have that right under the First Amendment.
I'm with Ronkon. I'd like to see it float. As it is it's a really big wooden boat in dry dock. Which few people would pay to see were it not for the religious angle.

And here we have living proof that all one needs to be religious is have faith, but one needs to UNDERSTAND science.
Eubie, you have lots of faith, but no understanding.

It is supposed to be a representation of the size and holding capacity of Noah's ark per the dimensions in the historic account in Genesis. This way people can see how feasible it was to hold so many animals and food for them. It wasn't built to float.
What you are saying "I'd like to see it float" is like saying a T-Rex was made from plaster forms in a museum and you ask: will it eat things like a real T-Rex? Will it run like a real T-Rex? etc.

But if it is built according to the instructions given to Noah as per the Bible, it would have to be able to float, wouldn't it?

It should float, regardless of whether plastic TRex can run.
If they cannot make it float, it is not a representation of the Ark. If it is that feasible, it should float.

Please quote the international rules to back up your assertion.
