I know some SE Asian countries quite intimately. "Christian" charity is always about conversion, in my experience.
If a charity says "christian" I run the other way.
I only provide support to secular charities.
I knew somebody out there understood what I was trying to get across. I remember this article from this newspaper that was talking about people in Thailand who were sick of the Christian charities over there focusing on converting people more tha helping them. It's sad.

I don't know why christian charity has to come with a pricetag.

Why is it impossible for christians to provide support and assistance (if they really do) simply out of love, compassion and kindness?
I think people who need a hand up are deserving no matter what their religious or non-religious beliefs. Who am I to tell them that they're wrong?

Why are christians so arrogant about the "good works" that they do?
Heck, why are they so arrogant? Period.

What is gained by "getting the numbers up"?

Is there some sort of data that shows that if numbers are "up" then people back home give more money to their church?

Try Googling "atheist philanthropist" for some interesting links. Here's just one example:

Atheist philanthropist gives New York Archdiocese largest-ever donation

Also, check this out:

I do plan to travel to other nations later, but I can't at this point in life because I have too many things to take care of. Nice twist on my words to try to make it seem like I support Christian's converting people. I don't.
So give me a story about how you or people of non-Christian faith have you know help and prove me wrong!!

I've donated money numerous times. Some even to religious organizations. I have nothing against religious charities, but when their mission is to convert people, they lose respect in my book. It's about helping people, not conversion. And with that little prove me wrong at the end, it's pretty clear why you opened this thread in the first place.
