Thankfully the buyer's home inspector didn't encounter these phenomena or your buddy wouldn't have been able to sell his house.

Even the most believing followers of these two religions sometimes have a hard time reconciling their respective texts specifically when it comes to the powers of supernatural beings on earth. From my crude knowledge of The Bible as a kid/teen, the devil rules the earth and has background influence which is still very powerful. Some Christians I've talked to say that it's only earthly temptations and 'moving' people away from God while others say that the devil actually has influence on humans and a few crazies I've met believe that the scientific progress of the ruling elite came from satanic powers (however that's a whole nother conspiracy which I'll reserve for another thread).

What do you non religious and religious folks think? Are the testimonies of people dabbling in the dark arts serious or just the power of the amazing mind?
From a Biblical perspective others can chime in but hopefully you'll get something out of this post since there are plenty of posts that attack and ridicule rather than explain.

1 John 5:19 indicates the ruler of this world is not the Creator but Satan

The Bible tells us he "blinds the minds of people" making it difficult to believe

During Jesus' time the accounts in the Bible indicate many individuals fell victim to direct influence from Satan and his supporters. You have the accounts of demons being cast out which were some of the miracles Jesus and the apostles performed.

God early on instructed the descendants of Abraham not to engage in the occult because of the influence they could fall under.

Does that mean every ruler or "ruling elite" is/are under Satan's influence? No, however what we have is a world that, in general, is alienated from God and Satan is a major player in that alienation.

Eeeh.....no. Not really.

divine (adj.) c. 1300, from Old French devin (12c.), from Latin divinus "of a god," from divus "a god," related to deus "god, deity" (from PIE root *dyeu- "to shine," in derivatives "sky, heaven, god"). Weakened sense of "excellent" had evolved by late 15c.

devil (n.) Old English deofol "evil spirit, a devil, the devil, false god, diabolical person," from Late Latin diabolus (also the source of Italian diavolo, French diable, Spanish diablo; German Teufel is Old High German tiufal, from Latin via Gothic diabaulus).

The Late Latin word is from Ecclesiastical Greek diabolos, in Jewish and Christian use, "Devil, Satan" (scriptural loan-translation of Hebrew satan), in general use "accuser, slanderer," from diaballein "to slander, attack," literally "throw across," from dia- "across, through" + ballein "to throw" (from PIE root *gwele- "to throw, reach"). Jerome re-introduced Satan in Latin bibles, and English translators have used both in different measures.

Where do you find this?...

That was nice of Him though. Evil spirits need a place to stay too. I have a spare room, they can stay with me if they need a place.
