a couple of teenagers in high school is one thing, say they are 14, 15, 16 years old.
a 53 year old man with several wives, taking a 6 year old child, and consummating the marriage when she is 9 still playing with dolls, is something else altogether.
It is not just the age of the girl. It is the age disparity, how much older is the man.
Are dates 100% accurate in all scriptures? Like God created everything in 7 days, Noah lived for 950 years and how old is the earth?
To me it seems like fundamentalism with any religion is where things go wrong because it separates people from the reality of today.
How is this any different from sex and marrage in the Bible or what the laws of age of concentration were in the USA before 1900 when that country was supposedly much more Christian than it is today? 8 cannot do a cut and paste but did a Google search for age of sex in the Bible and came up with interesting sites. If some of those are true then Mohammed was no different from men in the Bible. One mentioned was David, another Abraham. If this is indeed what happened does that mean that all Christians and Jews support this just like supposedly all Muslims supported it with Mohammed?

The problem with your philosophy is that it does not take into account that with the passing of years comes the passing of many beliefs and viewpoints that were once believed to be noble and even moral. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. But Jefferson was a slave own in the 1700s, before there was any real move towards abolition both in America, and globally. There are countless other examples. Gay people can now marry. That was unheard of 50 years ago, and in fact most people firmly disagreed with it. If you were against gay marriage just 20 years ago you had the moral viewpoint. Now if you are against gay marriage, you might be called an anti-gay bigot.

And how is it more moral to take all the virgins from a city and kill all the non virgins and males than it is to marry a 9 year old. Now we shake out heads at the thought of killing someone for working on the Sabbath, or stoning non-virgin brides, as directed by the Bible. The problem is that the Quran, and the Bible, and most any archaic holy book, is going to be found generally unacceptable as a moral guidebook not because they weren't once believed reputable, but because they became victims of enlightened attitudes.
