We all know that they started off essentially the same and eventually branched off into three different religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), but how do you know that your branch is the right one?
I love how Christians can't be civil when faced with questions they cannot answer logically.
This seems civil?
Anyway, my version of Christianity sees the professions of the Old Testament to be the true measure of Judaism. In the Old Testament God clearly reveals Himself as such, gives revelation to his people, then says that one of the ways we can recognize a true prophet is by their consistency with past revelation (not to say that new revelation can't come, but that it must not contradict previous teachings). In my view, Islam offers numerous breaks with that past revelation, even going so far as to claim at least one part of the Old Testament as we know it today is in error (i.e. Isaac or Esau is the favored of God). However, with my version of Christianity, I see the New Testament as the fulfillment of the Old Testament. The prophecy contained within the OT found its ultimate meaning and truth claims by what happened in the NT. Thus, we see Judaism and Christianity as essentially the same religion, just that Christianity is part of Judaism's truth claims fulfilled.
