YouTube - Free Will and Physics - Waking Life excerpt

Of course I've heard the problem with the concept of omniscience not being able to coincide with free will, but this one made me think about something else. If there is no such thing as free will, then how are we responsible for our actions? If there is no free will, we're not making choices on our own. We're doing what is already set for us to do. It's like yelling at someone for moving around if they have Parkinson's Disease. That would also mean that we were meant to be atheists and most likely just put here to go to hell.

That makes no sense to me...at all. That is one of the many problems I have with the concept of god.

Discuss.

Calvanist portions of Protestantism do not believe in free will. Neither does Islam.

Catholics and some Protestant denominations do believe in free will.

Actually, Calvinist denominations do believe in free will--they believe it is an antinomy of God's sovereignty and free will. Some supralapsarians may believe their is no free will, but for the most part Calvinists believe in free will and personal responsibility.
