But seriously, I think many people would find Jumpin Jack Flash to be the more uplifting song. It's message is very uplifting in my opinion.
As I already pointed out. I have been present to watch the entire birth and development of rock and roll. I was seven years old and right in front of the TV when Elvis made his first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in 1956. I was in high school and right in front of the TV when the Beatles made their legendary first appearance on the Sullivan show.
The reason I choose "Jumping Jack Flash" as an example of rock and roll, is because I have always considered that particular song to be the epitome of rock and roll. "Rock Around the Clock" may represent the first undisputed rock and roll song, but "Jumping Jack Flash" represents the place rock and roll was trying to get to. As pure rock and roll, "Jumping Jack Flash" has been equaled, but it can't be surpassed. Rock and roll is all about energy and excitement. "Jumping Jack Flash" hits all the right spots.
I was present to witness the beginnings of rock and roll. So I believe that I know a thing or two about the subject. Is genuine rock music evil? Or, conversely, is Christian pop/rock holy? Is it even worth listening to?
