I realize that, based on past interaction with you, the idea of forgiveness and mercy seem foreign.
Hypocritical if not twisted and warped in Christian doctrine. at any rate. But what has that to do with anything that i posted, other than as an attempt to change the subject? Oh - and make it a bit Personal as well.
Do you think we have a choice of which God created the universe? Do you believe that we can simply decide that?
Most of us have a choice to educate ourselves and by so doing, learn to separate fact from fantasy, myth from reality, and truth from the prattling of anonymous, primitive, barbaric men.

I think we have a choice of what we want to align ourselves with. If you lived in a country where the person or party in control reigns through terror and threats and fear, what would you think of those who aligned themselves with that person or party?

Completely off-topic and irrelevant topic. You are attempting to hijack the thread. You do this a lot.

If you choose to align yourself with the Easter Bunny and the Tooth fairy, does that make them real?
If one decides to simply not believe in gravity, does that enable one to fly?

So, a God who doesn't reign through fear, terror and threats is just a fairy tale to you.
If my only choice is to align with a real tyrant or a fairy tale of goodness and love, then I choose the latter. Why do you think it's noble to align with the former?

Never said that. I said a God that isn't real isn't real to me. I accept the truth for what it is. I don't try to simply make up my own truth as I go and pretend that it is real.
Now, you can either choose to accept reality, and accept what God has said about himself, or not. He is what He is. He doesn't much care if you find him hard to believe in. He's God, and we are not.

Since there is no evidence that any god(s) created the universe..... or if he/she/it/they did, which one did.... and no way to prove any of the above..... then yes, that's exactly what it is. A CHOICE.
And yes, that is exactly what you get to do.... you can simply decide which of several man-made stories you choose to believe.
This is what everybody does, whether they admit it or not. Some make a choice to believe one god did it. Some make a choice to believe in another creation story. Some make a choice to believe in multiple gods. And some choose to believe none of the man-made stories, in the absence of evidence to support any of them, content to wait until science can explain what really happened.
It's just that simple.
