Oh, this is pure foolishness DRob and you know it. I expected better from you because intelligence-wise I've always assumed you were a bit above BaptistFundie and Omega. Looks like I was wrong judging from you last two responses. I've always qualified any request for historic proof as "anything outside the Bible". The Bible isn't worth a damn for proving anything historical about Jesus and you know this. You're just not willing to admit it. The gospels are propaganda written to persuade pagans to join Christianity. That was their function for being written and refined. That's why Jesus is not presented as God in Mark but presented as God in John 50 years later. It's called "evolution of a story".

The hardest thing in the world to get over is pre conceived ideas, I didn't stop believing in God, but OH MY, the false pre conceived ideas drilled into my head WAS BRAINWASHING. It is extremely hard to think outside the box when you have lived inside the box all your life Thrill.
Yes, tell me about it. I had to take 4 years of intense studying to uncouple myself from all the crap programmed into me from the cradle. It wasn't easy, I promise. It started with all the failed rapture prophecies in 1988 with Lindsey, then 1993 with Camping, then 1998 with MJ Agee, then 2007 with I can't remember who. By 2010 I was completely jaded to the rapture and joked about it here:
"I will not allow a doctrine as sacred as the rapture of the saints to be denigrated by this so-and-so, and he also belittles Hal Lindsey--a man of the utmost integrity and honor...bla bla" or something similar.
This, a man who's been married and divorced 4 times a man of honor and integrity, harhar!
it's what the Bible says. I realize that, on a thread about the Bible, that isn't cool for you..but it's what the Bible says.
Which is why the Bible is as repellent as the god it describes.

Have you noticed how these people cannot Play the Table? If you attack the faith they believe in (unless it's some sect they despise) they take as a personal insult.
